I am a wedding photographer who loves to capture weddings all year round. Summer, Spring, Autumn, Winter. I love them all! OK technically some may throw challenges our way a little more than others but thats the thing I love. It allows my work to have that variety that I crave and Winter Weddings are as enjoyable as they are challenging and I love them…….but when they are in London I love them even more.
So when Rosey + Nick contacted me about a Winter Wedding at the beautiful and historic RSA House right in the heart of London’s Strand I was delighted I was available. No City wedding is ever reliant on the weather so any time of year they offer that setting and backdrop that matches my style so well.
Rosey, Nick and all their nearest and dearest embraced the season, the surroundings and all the love and joy and it proved to be another cracker. And here are fifty of my favourites from their special day.
RSA house is a wonderful place to hold a wedding. Its beautiful Georgian facade leads to a labyrinth of historic and contemporary spaces all of which Rosey and Nick made best use of throughout their wedding day. They chose the Benjamin Franklin room and its spectacular chandelier for their wedding ceremony, the amazing Great Hall and its epic series of paintings for their reception and the privacy of the vaults for their party and dancing. We also had a free rein to explore and grab some cool and alternative portraits throughout the day and night.
After a relaxed prep in different areas of the house Rosey, Nick and their little daughter Jess headed to meet their guests for their ceremony. Although Jess was a little under the weather she watched on as mum and dad tied the knot in the beautiful surroundings and beneath that spectacular chandelier.
What I love most about being a London Wedding Photographer is the juxtaposition of old and new. Getting creative with loading bays and historic hallways all within 30 minutes is thrilling and when my couples trust me to take them into the hustle and bustle of London the Saturday before Christmas and even walk hand in hand down the middle of strand I love the results. I want my couples to remember shooting their portraits as something that was fun, memorable and unexpected. Not forced, obvious and boring and Rosey and Nick where the perfect example of this adventurous spirit that I love.
After dinner and speeches under the watchful eye of the spectacular artwork of the Great Hall we all headed down into the vaults for a party. The perfect end to another perfect London Wedding. HUGE thanks to Rosey + Nick for their trust and adventurous spirit braving the cold, rain and London traffic!! and for choosing me as their RSA House Wedding Photographer! I had an absolute blast!
