Strap yourselves in folks because when two awesome wedding photographers get married in an industrial and light filled space in London AND they throw ALL the love, creativity and amazing suppliers into their day then you know its gonna be a rollercoaster of amazing energy and emotion. So be warned!!! If you are expecting a conventional wedding photographers blog post of box ticking, chronological images then you will see none of that here..instead a mashed up and mixed up selection of my favourite moments of joy, fun, colour and ENERGY!!!!
Lee and Lisa, Mr and Mrs Linus I LOVE YOU. Here are my mashed up fifty-ish favourites x x
Alternative Wedding Photography // London // The Old Dairy
I have been lucky to meet some amazing people throughout my wedding photography adventure. Couples, suppliers and photographers who want to mix it up and stick two fingers up to the expected and traditional side of the “World of Weddings” Folk like Lee and Lisa who after a boozy, craft beer filled afternoon in North London asked me to be their Wedding Photographer.
Being trusted to capture other photographers weddings might sound a bit scary BUT not with Lee + Lisa who made me feel entirely chilled and trusted throughout the whole process. PERFECT CLIENTS and now beautiful friends who I cant thank enough for their trust, love and pictures of Owls.
The Wedding Day
We started at The Town Hall Hotel with an excitable and emotional prep before heading out and putting our own spin on a “first look” down a smelly back alley in Bethnal Green. A taxi ride to Hoxton and the Photo Booth where Lee had proposed to Lisa was next on list before splitting up ahead of the ceremony.
Enter Zena Birch.
It was my first time shooting a wedding where Zena was the celebrant but I know the L+L wouldn’t have wanted anybody else to conduct their ceremony and I now know why. The service was personal, fun, emotive, genuine and unforgettable (how many registrars would present the groom with a life sized Ryan Reynolds cut out??) and the image I grabbed of them group hugging after they signed a post it note in the quiet side room is one of my favourite of this year.
Tears, dancing, food, espresso martinis, 2 tonnes of confetti and as much happiness as one old dairy can handle were topped of with Lee joining the wedding band to *erm* shout/sing 2 of Lisa’s favourite songs. IT WAS ALL AMAZING!!
